Liquid, Pencil Or Gel?

…I honestly can’t decide which kind of liner I prefer the most, so why not just use them all?!

Here are my top 5

 photo IMG_4431_zpshkpcuhlo.png

1. Soap & Glory Smoulder Kohl in Super Black – £5. I love Soap & Glory products and so this eyeliner is always a win win for me. It contains jojoba oil to moisturise and nourish with also the antioxidant vitamin E! For me personally, this is great to line your lower lash line as it gives a really rich and intense colour. Perfect also for popping in your handbag/purse.

2. Laura Mercier Crème Eye Liner in Noir – £19.50. A slightly more expensive eyeliner if you’re just looking for one to wear everyday, but this just applies to your eyelid with ease and has such a silky finished look to it! This eyeliner is suitable for contact lens wearers and to use simply apply on the upper lash line using the brush in a stroking kind of action.

3. Benefit They’re Real! Push-Up Eyeliner in Beyond Black – £18.50. My wildcard entry! This matte black gel formula is waterproof and very long lasting once applied. I’ve only just started using this, and I wasn’t a 100% at first if I actually liked this product… It’s a little bit tricky to use and you do have to make sure you wipe off any excess from your previous use before applying again. The reason I have placed this on here however is that after some practice I did grow to like it and I just love experimenting in general, so it’s definitely worth a try.

4. Rimmel London Exaggerate Eyeliner in Black – £5.29. This has been my go-to liquid eyeliner for ages and I honestly love this product! It’s highly pigmented and gives a bold look once applied to the upper lash line. It’s long lasting and the applicator helps creates a smooth and precise line. I’ve used it for years and it’s perfect for everyday and at the price you simply can’t go wrong.

5. MAC Liquidlast Liner in Point Black – £16. This eyeliner has a rich colour to it and the brush really helps to create a precise, thin and on-point tip for those who love a winged line. This eyeliner is probably the best at staying put once applied and I love that when I wear it, I don’t have to worry about it coming off at all. If you want an eyeliner that will last you throughout the day and night I highly recommend this brand.

Happy Birchday!!

So, this month Birchbox turns 5, having started back in the USA in 2010! To celebrate Birchbox have been doing a few different things, with ones of them being the box designs. This time they were created from moodboards presented by 2 birchboxers themselves and I absolutely loveeee the balloon themed box ❤

Here’s what I got…

 photo IMG_4385_zpst4ncd7mh.png

1.The Birchbrush – £5.99. This is this months Birchbox exclusive! It’s a cute little hand held brush which is perfect for keeping in your handbag to ensure even on the go your hair is flawless.

2. John Masters Organics Citrus Neroli Detangler – £16. Say au revoir to those annoying knots with this tangle tamer. Simply apply to wet hair and massage in! You can either leave this in or wash it out within 1-3 minutes, but personally I like to wash this out. This product has got a nice citrus smell to it and whilst I wouldn’t say it got rid of every tangle it did help smooth my hair.

3. Beauty Protector Beauty Wash – £8. This body wash has a really sweet smell to it and I really like it! It’s perfect for in-shower use to leave you feeling clean and whilst it does actually say you can use it in the bath, you’d definitely need more than a tester size to do this.

 photo FullSizeRender 14_zpsmtpik8ur.jpg

4. Bliss Lemon and Sage Body Butter – £22. Simply slather on this moisturising cream on any of your problem areas OR all over if you fancy to nourish and soften your skin. This cream has a citrus scent to it which isn’t too overpowering once applied, however for me personally if given the choice I’d stay away from a body butter that has any hint of lemon (complete personal preference).

5. Laqa & Co Cheeky Lip Pencil in Humble Brag – £17. This is a two-in-one product, whereby you can use the pencil for a pop of colour on your lips or on your cheeks for a bit of blush. I’ve only tried this so far on my lips and it is a very pretty shade, however I felt it dried out my lips a little unfortunately…

6. Benefit POREfessional License To Blot – £15.50. This product has been on my wishlist for a while now and so I was thrilled it came as a sample this month! This product battles against those pesky shiny T-Zones with it’s unique oil-blotting stick. To use simply apply on those problem areas in a blotting motion. Personally I use this before my makeup is applied and I find this gives the best results.

 photo FullSizeRender 16_zpsb22ild9e.jpg

Overall again, I really enjoyed this months box and the sample products given. My favourite being Benefits License To Blot and my least the Laqa & Co lip pencil. I can’t wait for next months already!

Highlight Your Weekend!

I love using highlighters as they’re a great way to add a little light to your face with just a few strokes. For every day use I simply use the Collection Speedy Highlighter (£3.99 – Boots) but for nights out, I always go to Benefits Watts Up!

 photo IMG_4291_zpsyhoedobw.png

WATT is it?

Watts Up! is a soft focus highlighter for your face that leaves a delicate champagne shimmer effect once applied. With a cream-to-powder finish it has a smooth applicator that glides on your face with a lovely luminous sheen. At £24.50, it’s not exactly a cheap highlighter, but I love how this looks once applied.

 photo IMG_4005_zps3o0ljp22.jpg

How To Use?

To use simply glide over your cheek, nose and brow bones and then soften with the blender to create your perfect glow! Personally I use it after I’ve applied my full makeup to add that finishing touch.

And for the end look, et voilà… 🙂

 photo IMG_4010_zpsib9ipxrk.jpg

Overall, if you’re looking for an everyday highlighter I’d probably advise for you to seek out cheaper options; but if you’re wanting a highlighter for that special occasion, I really recommend this brand. Go go go!!

Lip Balm: My Favourites.

 photo FullSizeRender 6_zpsonoxkjaa.jpg

I love lip balms and it’s a good job really as they’re the only beauty item I always seem to lose. I always have one to hand in whatever handbag I take out for that day, but I don’t think I’ve ever made it through a whole tin of Vaseline without it magically disappearing…

Anyway, I’m a firm believer that everyone should have at least 1 lip balm in their beauty bag and these are my personal favourites! (In no particular order).

 photo FullSizeRender 4_zpsepdirdyv.jpg

1. Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips – £1.95 (Boots). Vaseline Lip Therapy helps maintain the skin’s natural moisture barrier to form a protective shield between your lips and the elements. It instantly softens and soothes dry lips and leaves a lovely sheer pink tint for those days when you leave your lipstick at home. This product is great for keeping in your handbag and for the price, you can’t go wrong 🙂

2. Carmex Lip Balm – £1.65 (Boots). This classic lip balm contains ingredients such as menthol, camphor and beeswax which leaves a slight little tingling sensation once applied to soothe and smooth lips. I love the tingly feel when this is applied and I really recommend this product if your lips are in need of a bit of TLC.
 photo FullSizeRender_zpsaqd1syjm.jpg

3. EOS in Strawberry Sorbet – £3.25 (Amazon). Packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil, EOS keeps your lips moist, soft and silky smooth. I love the cute little sphere shape of this product and the smell is amazing!

4. Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub – £5.50 (Lush Cosmetics). Prep your lips with this scrub to ensure your lipstick glides on and stays put. Just apply with your finger and let the exfoliating sugar and softening jojoba oil scrub away dead skin and infuse moisture to rejuvenate your smile. The most expensive out of my top 5 but did I mention that it’s ridiculously tasty!? ❤

5. Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm – £3.14 (Feel Unique). This natural lip balm is loaded with coconut and sunflower oils, rich in vitamins and essential fatty acids, to nourish, condition and soften your lips. This glides on easy and lasts a long time once applied, a great product for keeping chapped lips at bay.

August Bircbox: Review!

 photo IMG_4112_zpsbeut4xgb.png

So, it’s that time again! Here’s my August Birchbox 🙂

This months box was #BeautyJunkie and I received the following products…

1. Rituals: Ayurveda Scrub – £10. This is an exfoliating scrub with a really pretty fragrance! You’re recommended to use it once or twice a week and so far I’m really liking it. The smell is lovely and it leaves my face feeling refreshed.

2. Kebelo: Clarifying Shampoo – £13.95. This is a deep cleansing shampoo to be used maybe once a month to give your hair a bit of a boost. I’ve not actually tried this yet, but for the price I’m hoping it’s amazing. I usually use Aussie products which are a lot less expensive

 photo IMG_4117_zpsf6bhjt2m.jpg

3. Huygens: Exfoliating Cream – £17.90. Another exfoliating cream this month, but unlike the other this is gentle enough for daily use! Simply massage into the skin and rinse away. This is quite a creamy scrub and I like how it feels, however I’m not one for the smell! It’s quite potent and I can only describe it as being very citrus.

 photo FullSizeRender 10_zps5y26cupi.jpg

4. Lord & Berry: Blush – £17. This is actually the first Lord & Berry product I own! I’ve been thinking about trying them for a while, so I was pleased to receive this sample. This is a ‘suits all skintone’ shade and for my very pale skin it is a nice little pop of colour. I’m excited to try more from them.

5. The Balm Cosmetics: Balm Desert Bronzer – £15. Bronzers in general for me have always been something I avoid. Unless I’ve been on holiday or fake tan for a special occasion, I’m too pasty to get away with Bronzer! I am willing to try it out however, so I’ll definitely keep this sample for a day I’m feeling brave PLUS how cute is the sample box?!

 photo IMG_4121_zpsrsuxr4ed.jpg

6. Formula 10.0.6: Overnight Success Spot Minimizing Patches – £2.95. Infused with Tea Tree and Grape Seed these cleansing patches work on your blemishes overnight whilst you sleep to help improve the look of your skin. I love these patches and I’ll definitely buy more.

And lastly we got… Birchbox emoji stickers! And well, who doesn’t love stickers?

 photo FullSizeRender 11_zpsfzx82uxa.jpg

Overall again I really enjoyed this months box! I love that I got to try new products and also receive samples from brands I’ve been meaning to buy from. I can’t wait for the next.

Max Factor Masterpiece Transform Mascara: Review.

~ I’m just a girl who loves mascara – Emilia Clarke ~

 photo IMG_3945_zps2oj70w57.jpg

I love mascara, I can’t leave the house without it!! Being blonde, I need a mascara that is going to make my light coloured lashes stand out and be noticed. I honestly can’t speak highly enough of Benefits They’re Real mascara as it’s been my go-to for quite some time now; however I’m all about trying new makeup products and so I thought I’d try Max Factor Masterpiece Transform Mascara in black.

I’m quite prepared to spend a mini fortune on mascara, but I’m pleased to say that this one is quite reasonably priced at £9.99 (Boots/ Superdrug).

The applicator/Wand is quite slim in design and the bristles are relatively short. I like this feature however as you can get really close to the base of your lashes to ensure a thorough coat of mascara is applied. I always apply 2 coats to my lashes due to how light they are, and I have to say I’m impressed with this mascara!

The product comes in two colours, black and black/brown and states that it is suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers too.

It didn’t clump my lashes together and it definitely caught all the little lashes in the corners of my eyes as well ensuring my lower lashes stood out also. For the price of this mascara, I’d definitely buy it again and recommend it to my friends who perhaps don’t want to spend the earth on beauty products.

If you’re after a new mascara; either from not liking the one you’re currently using, or if you’re a bit like me and just love trying new things… Give it a go 🙂

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water: Review.

Cleansing Water Or Makeup Wipes?

 photo IMG_3910_zpsphghpssg.jpg

When I first started to hear about cleansing water, I admit I was a little skeptical… I think it was because of the word ‘water’, it made the product sound perhaps a tiny bit lackluster? Sometimes I wear a lot of makeup, so I need a product that’s going to get all of this off! However, I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised

I’ve always loved Simple’s brand of makeup wipes. They work for me and I’m all about finding that product/cosmetic that suits you. Simple doesn’t irritate my skin or leave it blotchy and it takes off my makeup, so finding a new product was a bit of a makeup leap for me haha 🙂

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water is just £3.00 in Boots and this heavy duty cleanser gives (approximately) 200 uses. Like all micellar cleansers, it’s also gentle enough to use on eyes and lips and is completely perfume free, yay!

To use it’s pretty simple, place some drops onto some cotton wool or pads and wipe! As you’ll see from the photo, all my eye makeup disappeared (mascara + eyeliner) and there wasn’t an ounce of foundation left! My skin felt clean and fresh and I didn’t feel as if any makeup had been left on before bed.

There’s many brands out there now, all ranging in price but if you’re looking for a cheaper option, but in by no means cheap in product I recommend this brand. I’ll definitely be trying out other options, I might be a cleansing water convert!

MOTD!

– Today’s makeup look 🙂 –

 photo FullSizeRender 6_zpsoxqmpizk.jpg

For 5 out of the 7 days I’m at work and so I like to keep my makeup looking fresh and minimal, whilst also giving me the coverage I need so I don’t feel naked. The reason why I love makeup is because it personally gives me confidence and experimenting with different kinds of brands and styles is my favourite! So for an everyday look my favourite makeup (currently) is…

– Maybelline New York BB Cream (light) –

– Bare Minerals Matte Loose Powder (light) –

– Maybelline New York Fit Me Concealer (Fair) –

– Carmex Lip Balm –

 photo FullSizeRender 4_zpsyhneausm.jpg
